The Race to Save the Cougar Ace
Wired (of all places) features a story describing the righting of the mammoth Cougar Ace by a rag-tag group of “legal pirates” from a company called “Titan Savage.” It is a fascinating read full of characters that seem ready to jump into a Michael Bay movie: the Jackson Hole-based team leader who has a license to pilot any vessel in the world, the tattooed deep sea diver that lives on his boat in the Caribbean, the Seattle-based technical 3D-modelling expert that carries around a laptop — the Swedish cowboy is possibly more Lynch than Bay, but is there none-the-less.
Whether they’re eventually featured in a Most Dangerous Catch-style Discovery show, or fictionalized in a for-real Michael Bay movie, this is not the last time you will hear of Titan Savage.
